PTSD Awareness Month - June 2022

From Rowlett Mayor Blake Margolis

"The Downtown Rowlett water tower is lit in teal tonight to bring awareness to National PTSD Awareness Day.

There are currently about 8 million people in the United States with PTSD. Even though PTSD treatments can work, most people who have PTSD don't get the help they need. Everyone with PTSD—whether they are veterans, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses, survivors of sexual assault, serious accidents, natural disasters, or other traumatic events—needs to know that treatments can work and can lead to a better quality of life. https://www.ptsd.va.gov/screen/

Thanks to the Horwitz’s for requesting a proclamation and tower lighting. This is the first time Rowlett has recognized National PTSD Awareness Month and Day." #NationalPTSDAwarenessMonth #NationalPTSDAwarenessDay"
